Dr Klein - Ophthalmologist on Adult Stem Cell Therapy

Dr Klein is an American ophthalmologist practicing in Florida. His work has led him into contact with several Optic Nerve Hypoplasia patients who have traveled to China for adult stem cell treatments. We asked him how he got involved with patients going outside the US for medical treatments, what dangers existed for patients making the trip and the limits he saw on the improvement possible. Note: Dr Klein is not endorsing nor recommending any stem cell product or treatment. He is not affiliated, sponsored nor compensated by us nor anyone related to it. This interview was shot as part of a documentary project.

About this data

Patients self-assess each symptom on a 5-point scale (Worse / No improvement / Small / Moderate / Significant) at follow-up checkpoints after treatment, comparing to their pre-treatment baseline. "Reported improvement" combines the small, moderate and significant buckets. Data is updated daily from our internal patient registry. As with any medical treatment, past results do not guarantee future outcomes — improvements vary from patient to patient.
